Expanding the boundaries of denim–
Denim returns to Stone Island for Autumn_Winter '025-'026 in a new collection that reimagines the possibilities of the fabric. Applying its extensive technological research to one of apparel's most iconic product categories, Stone Island Denim Research combines innovative materials including Indigo Polypropene Denim, David Light Indigo-TC and Micro Corduroy with traditional Japanese raw selvedge. As a tribute to its heritage, Stone Island Denim Research garments feature a new dedicated black badge with a blue compass logo, as well as nickel shank badge buttons specifically developed to reflect the singularity of this project.

02 IN FOCUS
Technical materials are used to reframe and expand the definition of denim. Indigo Polypropylene Denim is made using one of the lightest fibres in existence, thanks in part to its hollow structure. It is woven with cotton yarn and denim tela resulting in a denim with a traditional appearance, but significantly lighter in weight. Micro Corduroy is composed of indigo-dyed cotton and white polyester, directly inspired by the colours of denim and with a distinctive ridged texture. The finished garment is rinsed.
03 COLLECTION
Materials used in the collection include Hollow Fibre Nylon Indigo-TC, a lightweight nylon made with hollow fibres that makes garments surprisingly light, and David Light Nylon Indigo-TC, a lightweight tela woven with Japanese polyester/polyamide yarns and dyed with indigo pigment. The addition of an anti-drop agent in a complex and exclusive dyeing process radically transforms the material’s hand and structure. Outerwear and five-pocket jeans are produced in regular and light rinse washes, as well as in raw and selvedge denim which will mould to the body’s movements and naturally release its colour over time. Jeans are created in slim, straight, and loose silhouettes.
