Fabric research and treatment
STONE ISLAND/PORTER®: The textile research and experimentation of Stone Island joins forces with Porter, the heritage Japanese bags and accessories brand.
Bum bag in Man Made Suede-TC, a non-woven fabric, made with nylon microfibres and polyurethane resins, engineered through a complex industrial process leading to a mattress of 22 hyper thin microfiber layers, with the help of a polyethylene component. The material is then impregnated with resins and coagulated. The result is a substrate which is lightened through washes dissolving the polyethylene component. The material is then treated to achieve the final suede aspect. The finished bum bag, made in Japan by Porter®, is dyed by Stone Island in Italy with the specific textile dyeing and ennobling technology recently engineered by STONE ISLAND.
