NO SEASONS–
First introduced by Massimo Osti from 1989-1994, NO SEASONS draws from the timeless philosophy of Stone Island through a series of new outerwear archetypes, rooted in history but forward-looking in design. The project encapsulates Osti's beyond-fashion approach to design, which is concerned with continuation and evolution rather than fleeting seasonal changes. Artist, rapper, DJ, designer, and producer Skepta wears 41NS001 Tela Resinata, a hooded jacket made from an evolution of Tela Stella.
01 THE PROJECT
The capsule is rooted in history, but forward-looking in design. To emphasize the atemporal aspect of the project, the new iteration of NO SEASONS revolves around a single outerwear style realised in six iconic fabrications: Tela Resinata, Nylon Prismatico-TC, Raso Gommato, David-TC, Crinkle Reps NY, and Panno.
Each variation is dyed in the same shade of Piombo grey, to retain the focus on materials and construction. During the dyeing process, the technical properties of each material alter its receptivity to the dye, affecting the tone and hue of the final garment.
04 DETAILS
NO SEASONS pieces are engineered for continuous wear, advancing the dialogue between convention and experimentation at the core of Stone Island.
In their contemporary update, the six jackets feature a three-dimensional hood with tape drawstring, an articulated central panel, two chest pockets with concealed zippers, two side pockets, and adjustable cuffs with snaps.
05 MATERIAL RESEARCH
Each material chosen for the project represents a landmark technical innovation in the history of Stone Island. Fabrics that date to the earliest days of the brand are updated and reimagined for today, in keeping with a spirit of continuous forward movement. In effect, NO SEASONS reintroduces Stone Island's texture and design codes as recognisable and enduring archetypes, establishing a consistent through-line within the brand's exploration of material and form.
