The Prototype Research Series are native limited editions. They feature garments in fabrics and/or treatments born from research and experimentation processes that have not yet been industrialised.

SERIES 07_LIQUID CRYSTAL HEAT REACTIVE: Anorak made of a nylon canvas treated with a special liquid crystal-based resin coating.
With an exceptional colour variance, Liquid Crystal Heat Reactive is a departure from the thermo-chromatic solutions previously used by Stone Island since 1989. Between the range of 15 and 31 degrees Celsius, the liquid crystals distributed on the fabric trigger a gradual molecular reactive colour change for a constant chromatic variability.
There is a white badge for Stone Island Textile Research garments on the left sleeve.
The liquid crystal resin coating has small white marks, visible especially when the jacket is black, at colder temperatures. These marks become increasingly visible as the jacket is worn.
